Have you ever wondered why so many dentists end up retiring later than the average retirement age? If you have, then you are not alone.

Almost all dentists are well prepared for their clinical endeavors when leaving dental school. The problem is that not all can say the same thing about knowing and understanding how to manage their financials once their degree is obtained. This is a problem that needs to be addressed and the sooner that it is evaluated, the sooner that problems can be fixed, or even avoided. This is why we had Ryan Issac with DentistAdvisors.com to shed some light on that and many other financial topics, and how to avoid so many of the pitfalls we are prone to falling into.

This episode was packed so much content you may have to pause it several times just so you can jot down all the pearls that Ryan put out on the airways!

Also be sure to check out the Dentist Money Show on iTunes for more great information from these guys!

What does it mean to be an entrepreneur? What does it mean to be relentless? These are two words that truly go hand in hand, and questions that we dive deep into during this episode.

We had Drs Karah and David Maloley along with Tiger Safarov sit down with us to chat on these topics and many more. We started the episode with a few laughs, but once we got going, the pearls in this episode just started flowing.

This episode was the last episode we recorded at the Voices of Dentistry this year. While we were recording we had several people come up during the episode and give insights into what we were discussing.

This was a super fun episode we did with some of the most down to earth people you will ever encounter. You all will love this episode!

The phrase "I've hit rock bottom" is one that we all have used or heard someone say at one point or another in our lives. Some of us were the ones saying it because we truly felt like we had hit rock bottom. Others were listening to someone else say that about themselves. Either way, it is a universal saying in regards to things not going so well in someone's life.

While it is a universal saying, it is also a relative term, meaning that one person's rock bottom may or may not be the same as someone else's rock bottom. This is where our guest (Lisa Moler, CEO of MedMark) sheds some light on her struggles in life and what led to her success.

We have all had ups and downs throughout life, but it is so important to surround yourself with people who genuinely care about you to allow you to succeed in all areas of your life. I believe you all with enjoy this episode and get a lot of valuable content out of it.

After the intro, we had a guest appearance from Dr. Justin Moody on the episode, and if you were at The Voices of Dentistry, then you seen him on his one wheel, so it was only fitting that we dared him to take a shot of fireball.. while riding the one wheel.. while on the podcast! You will just have to listen and find out for yourself if he succeeded or not. **Spoiler alert, it is Dr. Justin Moody we are talking about, and if it involves fireball, he usually wins!

I was watching an NBA game the other night and was focusing on how the coach and players interacted during the entire event. Now these are big time players we're talking about with big salaries who have essentially made it to the pinocle in their profession. Each one of these players has a coach. Now you would think that if someone made it to the top of their profession, that they wouldn't need coaching, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. So when you step back and think about this, if a professional athlete needs a coach, then wouldn't we as dentists need one as well.

Now the NBA and and dentistry are two totally different things, BUT the  concept of coaching is a universal thing. By surrounding yourself with people who are more skilled then you, or have more knowledge than you, you are only setting yourself up for success in life.

That is why we had Dr. Anissa Holmes on the show to discuss what coaching has done for her in her life, both personally and professionally. She genuinely explained what she has discovered when it comes to the advantages of coaching, as well as how that has transitioned into her marketing and allowed her to gain an insane number of followers on her office facebook page.

She gives the "WOW" factor a new meaning! (no pun intended)

Are you "relentless" in all of the areas in your life?

This is a question we all need to be asking ourselves when we look in the mirror each morning. Being relentless in life is a crucial part to becoming successful in all aspects of your life, whether that be financially, professionally, with your family, or any other area that you are striving to become better in.

This is a big reason why we had Dr. David Maloley from "The Relentless Dentist" on the show! Dr. Maloley is one the most straight forward people you will ever hear speak when it comes to real life, and not holding back the truth of the situation. Every time we speak to him, we always feel more motivated to strive towards an epic life in all aspects of our lives and careers, while maintaining the balance that you must have in life.

You can't put a price tag on how valuable this conversation was, and I can't wait for you all of you to dive in and listen to this episode!

This is also a little sneak peak into the Life and Dentistry Conference, because Dr. Maloley is one of the speakers, and you are in for a treat once you listen to this episode!

If you would like to reach out to Dr. Maloley, you can send him an email to dr.dave@relentlessdentist.com and also be sure to check out his podcast The Relentless Dentist on iTunes!

Have you ever woke up in the morning and thought to yourself that you would like to own a dental practice? How about owning 6 practices in just 6 years of graduating dental school? Well if you did, then you have a lot in common with our guest Dr. Addison Killeen!

Dr. Addison graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry, and took an associateship job straight out of school. As a little time went on, he ended up leaving that associateship and then getting involved in a partnership where he is now part owner of 6 dental offices!

It was very interesting to hear his story on his first associateship, what happened, and why it didn't end up working out. Something very cool from this, is that his first opportunity ended up not working out, but because of this, another door was opened and now he is part owner in 6 dental practices! He has developed a spreadsheet that he uses to crunch and evaluate the practice numbers. This spreadsheet will soon be available on his website www.addisonkilleen.com and he also has a book titled "By The Numbers: A Guide to Buying and Running a Dental Practice" which will be available on Amazon in the neat future.

Dr. Killeen can be reached at Addison.killeen@gmail.com and on Facebook

In all honesty, whether your goal is to be an associate, own a single practice, or own multiple practices, this episode will give you insight into Dr. Addison's journey and what lead him to owning multiple offices.

Have you ever wondered how in the world are you going to pay back your student loan debt, or how to live a normal life with all the debt? Well if you have, then you are not the first, and you won't be the last.

So many young doctors graduate every year with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt! This can be a stressful situation to deal with, especially if you have no experience in finances or managing debt correctly. This is why Travis Hornsby of the Student Loan Planner  came onto the show today, to give some insight on how to handle the debt, and live a normal, prosperous life!

During the episode, he discussed his background and why he became so passionate about controlling and managing student loan debt. After a little bit of his background, we got right into what all he can do as the Student Loan Planner, how he can save people money depending on their debt situations, why it is so crucial to know and understand what your options are, how to know which situation is right for you, along with much more!

Our group really believes in what he can offer young doctors trying to figure out their debt situation. This content is extremely valuable from today's episode, so if you all have any questions about it, feel free to reach out to us and let us know what you think. Also be sure to reach out to Travis if you have any questions about your student debt situation!
